A family tradition

The History:

The tradition began in the mid 1800’s when Agustus Tornow came over to the States from Germany and settled in Northwest Ohio. As a farmer, he began to buy land around the Lake Erie area. The farm was passed down to his son George. George Tornow continued to farm and invest in farm ground. His son Otto took over and began to to expand the farm operation to hire others to help run the flourishing business. His son, Rolland Turnow, took the farm and began investing in Dehydrated Alfalfa. He founded two corporations: Ohio Blenders and Ohio Dehy. Steve Turnow purchased the farm and transferred all ground to run organically in 1998. He is the current operator of Turnow Ventures Ltd. Organic Grains.
